I love you First Baptist Family! This article is going to be more of a prayer request than a true article. As we approach the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021 there are many joys to thank the Lord for and a few items that I would like for you to add to your prayer list. Let’s talk about joy! After a great meeting with our prospective Children’s Ministry Coordinator and our Children’s Ministry Team, it looks like we have found the one who God has been preparing for our children, families, and church. We are in the process of working out details, but as soon as those things are worked out we will be excited for you to meet her! Starting the new year with a Children’s Coordinator was a priority for us and I am thankful that we are most likely going to do that.
Another joy has been seeing people saved! Over the next couple of weeks the baptismal waters will be stirring and stirring! Personally, I was able to witness my sister give her heart and life to the Lord! Hallelujah! God has brought so many new faces and families to us and my heart is full of joy over it! God is at work at FBC!
We also have a few things that need to be bathed in prayer. We will soon begin the process of putting together a Worship Pastor Search Committee. Please begin praying now for the men and women that will make up that team. Also, begin praying for whoever it is that God has been preparing for us. As someone who just recently transitioned to FBC Lawton; I can tell you that God was at work long before I arrived. He had to work in me, my wife, my children, and my church. Your prayers were so obvious as I walked through the process. Pray, pray, pray!
Pray for a normal 2021! As Covid-19 gets a second wind and fear starts to rear its ugly head, pray that we will keep our eyes on Jesus. We always want to operate out of faith and not fear. However, as we pray through this season I am asking the Lord for discernment, wisdom, and guidance. Please join me. I take very seriously the physical and spiritual lives of those the Lord has entrusted to my care. I do not want to make decisions regarding our church family based on a whim or feelings. I want to be led of the Lord. I am blessed to have access to godly council with our staff, Covid-19 team, deacons, and various church leaders, but your prayers are crucial and I covet them.
FBC, I love you. I mean it!
