I know these have been challenging times as we struggle with adjusting to a different ‘normal’ in our daily lives.  But, I would like to highlight an important event coming up in the life of our Children’s Ministry and want you to be a part of this exciting time!  On September 2nd we will be holding our in-person registration for AWANA!  Families will be able to register their children and grandchildren for the 2020-2021 AWANA Club Year and enjoy a cold ice cream treat.

AWANA is a local church sponsored program where children can enjoy exciting games and activities, meet new friends and learn about God and memorize His Word.  An AWANA club meeting consists of several parts including handbook time, bible story time and game time.  AWANA stands for: Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, taken from 2 Timothy 2:15 “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” Our goal in AWANA is to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and to train them to serve Him.  The four AWANA clubs offered here at FBC Lawton are:

·      Puggles: 2 years of age (must be of age by August 1st)

·      Cubbies: 3 and 4 years of age (must be of age by August 1st)

·      Sparks: Kindergarten-2nd grade

·      Truth & Training: 3rd grade – 5th grade

Interested in helping with AWANA throughout the year?  Contact either me or Holly Phillips and we will be happy to explain more about AWANA and where you can serve.

  1. This is God’s beautiful work.
We’re L@@King forward to see the growth with Jesus in the lives of the AWANA staff of volunteers and those they serve.
Just think how the Holy Spirit is moving in the families reached by AWANA, as their children dig into God’s Word!
Again Lord, Thankyou for Your Command and Promise found in 2 Timothy 2:15.
Abba Father we pray in Your Son’s Name,
    Amen
