Spring is finally here and Easter is right around the corner. There are “Pop in for Easter” invitations available for members to use to invite family, friends and guests to our Easter Celebration on April 21st. Easter Sunday will be a great day of praise and worship with the choir special “My Easter Story” and special message from Pastor Patrick. Most importantly, we should invite our friends and neighbors and pray that people will hear the Good News and receive the Lord Jesus as their Savior.
To prepare for this wonderful Easter day, we will have a “Spring Cleaning Workday” on Saturday, April 13th to help spruce up our church buildings and grounds. I believe everyone would want our guests to have a wonderful first impression when they walk into our Worship Center. First, this will start with a warm handshake and smile as they are greeted at the door. Second, we should have a clean and inviting building and grounds so our guests will see that we are being good stewards with the buildings God has allowed us to have.
On Saturday the 13th, I will have a list of items that need to be worked on. Sunday School classes or individuals are invited to help make our buildings and grounds more appealing for our guests. Window cleaning, power washing, spreading dirt in the yards, trimming hedges, cleaning the playground equipment, raking leaves, are just a few of the items that need our attention. We will meet in Fellowship Hall at 7:45 for coffee and donuts, then begin work at 8 am. What a great opportunity for our members to serve together, doing chores in God’s House. If you would like to help or have questions, please feel free to call me at 580-591-1061. Thank you all for your continued support and prayers for the ministries of First Baptist Church.
