We are looking forward to a great event coming February 1-3 for our students called United Weekend. You might ask the question, “What is United Weekend, Aaron?” United Weekend is simply a name change to something FBC has done for years called Impact. We have changed the name to United Weekend because we are uniting with ten other churches in our community and surrounding area to worship and fellowship together-UNITED. One objective of the weekend being united is for our students to recognize they aren’t alone in Lawton as young believers. Our theme verse is John 17:23, “I am in them and you are in me, so that they may be made completely one, that the world may know you have sent me and loved them as you have loved me.”
This weekend is a great building point for us as we start to move through the spring going into summer. We can see this as a shot in the arm for the students as they move toward the end of school. Please be in prayer for our students leading up to this weekend and also as they listen and are challenged and encouraged in their walk with the Lord. The cost for students to attend is $30.
Our guest speaker, Darren Neely, is a teaching pastor at the MET church in Houston, TX. Our guest worship leader is the Soul Society from Shawnee, OK area. We have a few needs to carry off the weekend. If you are interested in providing scholarships or snacks (such as cookies or chips) please contact Aaron at the church office or aaron@fbclawton.org.
Church family, thank you for your prayers and support for this event. We are even more grateful for your dedication to prayer for your students here at FBC and the Lawton/Ft. Sill area. We could not do this without you. Our student ministry is not able to do the things we are doing without the support of our church family.

Aaron Myers
Associate Pastor of Students
