In just a few weeks, First Baptist Church will present the gospel to children in our community through Vacation Bible School. Our mission is to reach as many children and their families as possible and lead them to know Jesus Christ. This year’s theme focuses on discovering the God of the universe (Colossians 1:15-16). During the week of June 5 – 9, many of our church members will be busy serving and ministering to the children who attend VBS. We are still in need of a few more volunteers. If you are able to serve as a guide, greeter, snack helper or bus monitor, we would appreciate your help. We would like to invite you to attend a VBS workers’ meeting on Wed, May 10, at 6:00 p.m. in room 209. This important meeting is for all VBS workers to help us plan and prepare for VBS. Workers will have an opportunity to order VBS t-shirts. We are also in need of donations for crafts (empty water bottles without ridges with caps—examples: Ice, Voss, Life Water, etc., large bottles of baby oil, pool noodles from Dollar Tree, packs of glow in the dark stars from Dollar General and 8x10 or smaller blank canvases for painting). Please turn these items in to the church office or drop them off in the Children’s Building (first floor). You may contact Heather Neff at (405) 818-9466 for more information. Please pray for the children who will be attending VBS and for their families whose lives will be touched during this time and for the workers who will be ministering to the children through Bible lessons, mission stories, music and crafts. And pray that our church will build a strong foundation for our children as they discover the God of the universe! Thank you, church family.
