Vacation Bible School is just around the corner.  It’s not too early to start planning.  We, meaning your staff, have been working hard on planning for this year.  We are planning on hosting a great time this year for kids.  The VBS theme is “In The Wild”.  We have all of our main teachers in place for our classes and special areas, but we are in need of many more workers.  We have worker training on Sunday, April 28 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.  We will be getting everyone geared up for “In The Wild” that is coming June 3-7.  We will need workers for our bus monitors, floaters and registration needs.

I can remember as a child attending Vacation Bible School and the teachers that I had for my classes.  Vacation Bible School was a major part of my life as I grew up, and not only that, I looked forward to the day when I was old enough to help in VBS.  God uses VBS in amazing ways and we want to make this the best year we have ever had in VBS.  We are inviting you to be a major part of what will take place this year.  Will you volunteer to help make this year great?

We want to get the word out and let everyone in our community know that we are having VBS and that they are invited.  So how can you let people know about VBS?

1. Tickets.

Pick up some tickets from the table in the Hall of Memories and pass them out wherever you go in town.  These tickets are much like our LCT tickets, in that they are easy to hand out and leave places.

2. Yard Signs.

We will have yard signs with stakes.  Pick up a yard sign and place it in your front yard.  We are asking for a $5 donation to help cover the cost of these signs.  They are great for advertising VBS.  They will be here soon so keep an eye out for them.

3. VBS Blitz.

This is happening on Sunday afternoon May 19 at 3 p.m.  We will be heading out to several businesses in town as well as heading to several different parks across our community.  We will meet here at the church in the Fellowship Hall and get instructions, tickets, group up, and pray before we head out to our locations.  Don’t miss out on this great time of fellowship and sharing VBS and the gospel.

4. Pray.

It’s important for us to spend time in prayer for VBS, for the workers of VBS, for the children attending VBS, and for all the ways that we are promoting VBS.  God can do amazing things in the lives of kids through VBS.  Pray for the VBS Commencement Sunday, and make sure you are there for that amazing time of celebration and outreach.  Take the time to pray for VBS!

We, as your staff, are excited for VBS and how God is going to use it this year in our church and in our community to reach families with the love of Christ.  Make sure you are a part of telling people about making HIM known.
