The 40th Living Christmas Tree (LCT) is quickly approaching. If you are unfamiliar with this annual event, here are a few details: The Living Christmas Tree is presented as a gift to the community from First Baptist Church by a 100 voice choir, full orchestra and drama cast. The 40 foot metal constructed tree is covered with 80,000 computer controlled lights moving in synchronization to music. It is a unique sight to behold. Each year offers a new presentation, but the message is always the same. The purpose and heartbeat of this event is to share the gospel message of Christ and His love.
Tickets, Posters and Yard Signs
The combined attendance for the four presentations is usually around 3,400. With Covid-19, we are still praying for great crowds. We will offer open seating and social distance seating. Masks will be required. Now, for some great news! We are also excited and planning to have 1,000+ trainee soldiers for the Thursday evening dress rehearsal.
It is vital that many use the LCT tickets to invite people! A personal invitation to friends, family and the community is the number one way to help boost attendance. Please use the LCT invite tickets, posters and yard signs to spread the word, so we can share The Word!
Ephesians 2:8-9 states, “For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift – not from works, so that no once can boast.” (HCSB) As God the Father extends His grace through the Son, to those who believe, so we desire to extend this “free gift” to our community. If you desire to be involved in this ministry, here are a variety of ways to be involved:
Volunteer for Presentation Dates – December 11, 12, 13
Sign-up sheets are in the Foyer for those who would like to help as Greeters, Ushers, Childcare Workers, Parking Attendants and at the Cookie and Cider table during each presentation. Team captains have been appointed and they will give guidance to each volunteer position. Attend One, Serve One.

LCT Prayer Warriors
There is a saying, “Little prayer, little power; some prayer, some power; much prayer, much power.” Please join in praying for the LCT. We need much prayer!
Every year we ask people who attend the Living Christmas Tree performances to contribute non-perishable food items. Remember, each Sunday School department is responsible for identifying deserving families, filling and delivering the boxes between December 14-21.
“Splendor and majesty are before Him; strength and beauty are in His sanctuary. Ascribe to the Lord, you families of the peoples, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.” Psalm 96:6-7
