Throughout life, there are days where our schedule is jammed packed with activities, appointments and obligations and other days seem a bit more relaxing. The days filled with activities seem to just fly by because every minute is filled.
Sunday, November 6, will be a day full of activities as we worship the Lord in various ways.
Daylight Savings ends on Sunday, November 6. So, begin your day by praising the Lord for the extra hour of rest, fellowship with the Lord and others through the Sunday School hour, worship the Lord during our corporate gathering as Oklahoma Baptist University Chorale leads and an International Missionary preaches the Word.
The evening worship gathering at 5:30 p.m. in the sanctuary will be a special treat! Our Children’s Choirs will be presenting the music they have learned this semester. We will be blessed as Heaven’s Kids (4 & 5’s) sing a couple of songs, led by Vicki Henson. Then, Kingdom Kids (1st-6th graders) will present the musical entitled: “All About That Baby.” You will not want to miss this Christmas presentation led by Carey and Rylee Woessner.
Operation Christmas Child packing party will follow the Children’s Choirs’ presentations. We will all move to Fellowship Hall for food, fellowship and ministry. First Baptist Lawton will pack 1,200 shoeboxes, which will be shipped to needy children around the world. As a regional collection site for the Franklin Graham’s organization, Samaritan’s Purse, First Baptist plays a vital role in spreading the gospel. Every shoebox contains items meeting physical needs and a Gospel Track is given to meet the spiritual need.
Please pray for this day packed full of various activities. “This is the day the Lord had made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!” Psalm 118:24
