Resurrection Sunday is the celebration of the glorious truth that Jesus Christ arose from the dead! This is Christianity’s most important holiday. As Christians, we walk by faith, trusting and accepting that Jesus died on the cross as atonement for our sin. This is the reason to celebrate!
This Easter Sunday will be as unique as any of us have ever experienced because we will not be together as a cooperate body inside the walls of the church, but as the people of the church, we will worship and celebrate together spiritually through various social media sources: KSWO Channel 7, Facebook Live, BoxCast App., YouTube, Roku or the church website
www.fbclawton.org/livestream/. Our church staff strongly encourages you to join us at 11:00AM through one of these platforms.
Near the beginning of the worship service, Interim Pastor Joe Ligon, will lead everyone as we partake in the Lord’s Supper together. This will be a special time of remembrance and reflection. So, it will be important to have the necessary elements to participate. Certainly, we are not asking you to make a special trip to the store, but simply by using items you may already have at home. We have provided an unleavened bread recipe for you and/or your family at
After the Lord’s Supper, we will shift our mindset to celebrating the resurrected Christ! Jesus Saves! What an incredible biblical truth! John 14:6 states: “I am the way and the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me.” Christ chose to give up His own life to restore and save the lives of His own creation… YOU! Please join and sing along as we celebrate this truth. Then, Interim Pastor Joe Ligon, will deliver a special gospel centered Easter message. Joe’s messages have been fantastic! You will not want to miss this one either!
In preparation for Easter Sunday, I encourage you to read through the scriptures in reference to Holy Week, also known as the Passion Week. These are the events leading up to the death and resurrection of Jesus. There are several accounts throughout the Gospels:
Matthew 26-28, Mark 11-16,
Luke 19:26 – Luke 24 and John 12-21. There is not a better way to prepare for Easter than focusing your mind and heart on reading, reflecting and praying through these biblical accounts.
Here’s an outreach idea! Ask, share or invite others to be a part of this incredible day as we celebrate The Resurrected Savior. How? Please encourage family, friends, students, neighbors, co-workers to worship with us on Easter Sunday. When the service goes live, share the
www.fbclawton.org/livestream/ link or when you open Facebook Live share the stream or start a watch party.
We love you all and are praying for you during these unprecedented days. Rejoice! For the Lord your God is Sovereign.
