CHILDREN'S MINISTRIES
The Childrens and preschool ministry exist to teach and train children how they can be passionate followers of Christ. We complete that goal by offering the following activities for children and their families.
Sunday School
AWANA
We meet on Wednesdays from 6:00 - 7:30pm for our AWANA program. Awana stands for: Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, taken from II Timothy 2:15 “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” The Awana goal is to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and to train them to serve Him. We offer clubs for children 2 years of age to 6th grade.

Upward Sports
Register for Upward Sports in the fall for children grades K5 - 5. Upward Sports Recreation Programs offer a variety of opportunities for young athletes to discover and refine their athletic skills while cultivating a passion for the sport. Through age-appropriate team play, athletes begin to build positive character traits that will allow them to encourage, strengthen, and motivate themselves and their fellow teammates. As they learn and follow game rules, young athletes will also learn the value of sportsmanship with a healthy competitive spirit.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is a week long summer program at First Baptist Church. This is a free event for all children who have completed Pre K -5th grade. Kids will begin each day with a worship rally. From the worship rally, kids will gather at various locations where they will be equipped to dig deep into God’s Word. Kids will learn that God has given them everything they need through His divine power. Each day kids will make crafts, play fun games, enjoy tasty snacks, sing cool songs, and learn about missions.
CrossTimbers Camp
CrossTimbers Children’s Mission Adventure Camp is available for children in 3rd-5th grade every summer. CrossTimbers exists to support local church efforts to reach lost children in their communities and to raise up a generation of kids with an authentic walk with God who actively serve others with missional living. Their core values include: 1. Learn biblical principles for worship, missions, evangelism, and life. 2. Create and strengthen relationships with God, family, and others. 3. Experience nature in a fun and safe environment.
