Being a pastor is widely recognized as one of the most difficult vocations in our modern society. The month of October is generally recognized as a time to pay tribute and honor pastors and their ministry. Studies have shown that one of the most significant factors for the well-being of pastors is the support they feel from their congregations. A partnership between pastors and their congregations is very important to a pastor’s effectiveness and well-being.

With those thoughts in mind, your Personnel Committee is seeking to recognize and honor our four pastors and their families. We have prepared a prayer guide for each day of the month that provides suggestions for you as you pray for them. The prayer guides are available in Sunday School departments and in the Worship Center foyer. We also encourage you to contact our pastors in person or by mail, phone, text, e-mail, etc. to express your love and support. In addition, the committee will be providing small reminders of our love and support each week during the month. On Sunday morning, October 28 all four pastors and their families will be recognized in the morning worship service and presented a gift from the church.

As often as possible, but particularly this month, please remember to take time and thank:

  • Aaron, Cory, Elli Kate, & Ana Beth Myers.
  • Mike, Heather, Lane, & Cade Neff.
  • Tony, Lesha, & Joy Christie.
  • Patrick, Laura, Julianne, Will, & Levi Latham.

And please remember the words of I Thessalonians 5:12-13, “Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work...”
