The Sunday School teacher was carefully explaining the story of Elijah the Prophet and the false prophets of Baal. She explained how Elijah built the altar, put wood upon it, cut the steer in pieces and laid it upon the altar. And then Elijah commanded the people of God to fill four barrels of water and pour it over the altar. He had them do this four times.
“Now, said the teacher, “can anyone in the class tell me why the Lord would have Elijah pour water over the steer on the altar?” A little girl in the back of the room raised her hand with great enthusiasm, “To make the gravy.”
The Senior Adult Breakfast & Joint Sunday School will be held on Sunday, April 22, 8:30 – 10:30 a.m., in the Fellowship Hall. If you are a senior adult you will not want to miss this special time of Sunday morning fellowship, music, delicious food, Bible study, and lots of fun.
I can promise that you will walk away with a better understanding of a Bible story than that little girl. In fact, you will walk away having enjoyed the Bible and the breakfast (gravy and all). During this event we will hear the Christ exalting music of our PrimeTime Choir and we will enjoy the Bible study lesson taught by Kenneth Cantrell.
As we spend the morning filling up with physical and spiritual nourishment we will enjoy wonderful fellowship with brothers and sisters in Christ. If you are a senior adult I encourage you to join us and invite others to this outreach event. You will be glad you did.
