Vacation Bible School was awesome! The motto for the week was: Searching the visible, discovering the invisible which focused on scripture from Colossians 1:15-16 “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For everything was created by Him, in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him”. It was an exciting time for children to learn about Jesus. The boys and girls (162 of them), moved from station to station (Bible study, missions, music and even crafts) to learn about who Jesus is, how special He is, and what it means to have a relationship with Him.
25 children made decisions, 18 for salvation and 7 for rededication. The children were challenged each day to give monetary donations to Global Hunger Relief to address hunger needs in the world. They managed to raise $400 for that cause. The commencement on Sunday was a wonderful conclusion to our mission of sharing the gospel with the children and it was an opportunity to reach out to their families as well. Many of those families attended the lunch afterwards and expressed their gratitude for VBS. Thank you to the 91 dedicated volunteers who gave their time and love to the children. Thank you to the church staff who helped in the planning and preparation, set up and clean up. Thank you to the families who allowed their children to attend VBS. Thank you to our church family for donations, prayers and support. And, thank you to the kitchen staff and deacons who prepared lunch, and set up and supervised the games.
