Thank you for your participation during the all of events that the Building Renovation Ministry Team has hosted over the last couple of months. We have had listening sessions that have resulted in changes to plans, 3 breakfasts to further describe the project and it’s mission, and a commitment period. All of these events had positive feedback from the church membership and the Building Renovation Ministry Team. The vision for this project is important and I hope that this was communicated effectively. We appreciate those who see that our church is important and will be just as vital many years from now.
To paraphrase I have read many different quotes that read, “We are sitting in the shade today because someone planted a seed a long time ago”. My prayer is that this is what we are doing today for the First Baptist Church Lawton – Fort Sill of the future.
The current estimate of commitments sits at approximately $669,000. It is exciting to see so many bulbs on the 2020 sign shining so bright in the sanctuary. The Building Renovation Ministry Team will be meeting soon to discuss how the current commitments fit plans and what is exactly feasible. I do see a great project ahead and request your prayers and support as the project for the Welcome Center becomes a reality.
Representatives from the Building Renovation Ministry Team are meeting with the Budget and Finance Committee to maintain communication and a path forward from a fiscal standpoint. A business meeting will be held on October 27th so watch for information coming up regarding those details and I hope you will be able to attend. Once again, thank you to all and continue your prayers and support as the church moves forward.
