The Building Renovation Ministry Team and staff has been hard at work finalizing plans and setting schedules to best meet the objectives of the project to create an upgraded welcome area for prospective members, guests, and current church members.  Thanks to all who attended and gave input to the series of listening sessions that were hosted.  Based on ideas from you, some updates were made to the plans to best serve our church.  The team has worked recently with our contractor to finalize plans.  The plans do look similar to what has been presented, however, the main changes took place to optimize the restroom facility spaces.

As we move through August and approach September, watch for informational brochures about the project and dates of specific meeting times to hear more about the Welcome Center.  The brochures will give current information about the Welcome Center and different options of how you can support the project. The meeting times for project information will consist of breakfasts on Sunday mornings in September.  The presentations will be given at different times to different groups and Sunday School classes.  This gives everyone a chance to see and hear the vision of the project in a smaller group setting.

It is an exciting time at First Baptist Lawton-Fort Sill as we move forward to welcome current and future generations to our church to hear the gospel.  I would encourage all of you to join us for breakfast in September.  When you see any of the team consisting of: Stacy Hart, Jeff Sadler, Judy Hargrove, Bob Cox, Marcy Bridges, Danny Smith, Natalie Wright and myself; thank them for their work and dedication to seeing that this project is done properly and per God’s will.  While you’re at it, thank our staff as well, they have spent much time, thought, and prayer regarding this project.  Let’s encourage each other and recognize the great days ahead for our church.  As summer passes and school is starting, I look forward to visiting with you soon.  Hope to see you in September.
