On September 29, 2015, my 30-year-old brother unexpectedly passed away. His death was devastating to our family, but especially to my parents and his beloved wife, now a widow at the age of 25 with three children under the age of three. In heart-wrenching grief, Brittany made a choice that day to continue to trust in the God she had loved since childhood, and over the last year and a half, she has walked this road of suffering with perseverance and hope. Because it is her desire that this suffering would not be wasted, she shares her story so that others will know Jesus and to bring glory and honor to God.
The Bible is clear that all of us will experience trials of various nature in life. How we respond, however, is our choice. Will we run to Jesus, or will we run from Him? Will we remain steadfast in our faith; believing that ultimately our suffering produces perseverance, character and hope, or will the hardships we face cause our faith to waver? On Friday, April 28, Brittany will be at First Baptist Lawton to speak at our ladies’ night on this subject. Although she will share her story, her message is not solely on grief, but rather on persevering in trials, the faithfulness of God and the hope we have in Jesus.
A pre-session dinner will begin at 5:30 and childcare will be provided. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased on-line, at the front office, or in the hall of memories after the morning service.
I hope you will make plans to attend this evening of fellowship and encouragement! You are not going to want to miss it!
